In 1939 Fire Proof Tanks Ltd (our original name) delivered their first self sealing fuel tank for the Royal Air Force. Since then FPT has been constantly developing and manufacturing new tanks and fuel systems for a whole range of applications.

Some of the most famous names in aerospace and defence have relied on FPT products to safely store fuel and deliver it to the engine and the right time, in the right quantity.

Overview

When we commence work with a new fuel system we need to establish the best solution for the application. Some applications for fuel; delivery to a vehicle and can include storage, transport and pumping equipment. In other applications we are creating the on board fuel storage and delivery elements for a vehicle. In order to achieve this we need to determine the most important factors in the fuel tank. Questions that we have to address include weight restrictions? Crash survivability? Temperature? Type of fuel? Self sealing? Access and installation? Maximisation of available space
